Schools
Asheville High School, ranked as one of the top 100 high schools in the nation, offers students a unique environment. The original
structure was built in 1927, but has been meticulously maintained and updated, so the school is elegant and modern, and offers public school students a welcome change from the cheaply-built utilitarian schools that some cities offer. One wing of the school was even built by students in the vocational program as an example of their real-world skills! Now that’s a way to foster pride in your school.
Asheville also hosts several charter schools, some of the first in the state of North Carolina, including Francine Delany New School for Children, and the New City Christian School, a low-income private school. Two other private high schools, and over 10 colleges and universities help ensure that education is a vitally important part of Buncombe county.
Hendersonville, while smaller than Asheville, offers almost as many wonderful options for your child’s education.
With over 15 private and public elementary schools, 4 public high schools, and a diverse array of private and religious schools, Hendersonville, North Carolina’s commitment to education is clear. Hendersonville, like Asheville, offers a 13-14 students/ teacher ratio, almost 3 students lower than the national average, and an 81% graduation rate, which is also significantly above the national average.
Rest assured that if your children
attend Buncombe County schools, NC
they will receive a top notch
education. |
